چکیده
This paper aims at improving the operation of water distribution networks (WDN) by developing a leak monitoring framework. To do that, an online statistical hypothesis test based on detection is proposed. The developed technique, so-called exponentially weighted reduced kernel generalized likelihood ratio (EW-ORKGLRT), addressed so that modeling phase performed using principal component analysis (KPCA) model, which capable dealing with higher computational cost. Then computed model fed to EW-ORKGLRT chart for purposes. proposed approach extends ORKGLRT method one uses exponential weights residuals in moving window. It might be able further enhance performance detecting small and moderate leaks. method’s main advantages are first required time leaks then updating KPCA according dynamic change process. evaluated compared conventional techniques simulated WDN data. selected criteria excellent rate, false alarm CPU time.

LEAK DETECTION IN WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM USING NON-LINEAR KALMAN FILTER
Leakage detection in water distribution systems play an important role in storage and management of water resources. Therefore, to reduce water loss in these systems, a method should be introduced that reacts rapidly to such events and determines their occurrence time and location with the least possible error. In this study, in order to determine position and amount of leakage in distribution ...
متن کاملSensor placement for leak detection and location in water distribution networks
The performance of a leak detection and location algorithm depends on the set of measurements that are available in the network. This work presents an optimization strategy that maximizes the leak diagnosability performance of the network. The goal is to characterize and determine a sensor configuration that guarantees a maximum degree of diagnosability while the sensor configuration cost satis...

This paper presents a methodology for comparing the performance of model-reduction strategies to be used with a diagnostic methodology for leak detection in water distribution networks. The goal is to find reduction strategies that are suitable for error-domain model falsification, a model based data interpretation methodology. Twelve reduction strategies are derived from five strategy categori...
متن کاملA Graph Partitioning Algorithm for Leak Detection in Water Distribution Networks
Leak detection in urban water distribution networks (WDNs) is challenging given their scale, complexity, and limited instrumentation. We present a technique for leak detection in WDNs, which involves making additional flow measurements on-demand, and repeated use of water balance. Graph partitioning is used to determine the location of flow measurements, with the objective to minimize the measu...
